US Open Cup Next
The Sounders put up a pretty good fight on Saturday in front a sellout crowd at Qwest. While I know it certainly was the best atmosphere I have witnessed live one can only hope we are able to beat Houston for the 2nd time in as many weeks. We have another run in with Houston soon an we can only hope to take 3 out of 3. Hopefully, the crazy atmoshpere at Starfire tomorrow will give the Sounders some extra energy and they can host the Open cup Final!

Houston in the books, Chelsea is next
After a fantastic finish by Ianni (posted below) the Sounders came from behind to beat Houston taking over sole postion of 2nd place in the league! The team play fairly well and showed tremendous heart coming from behind to get the win after a controversial goal from Montero. This week brings us to the most exciting game of the season when Chelsea visits Qwest before almost 70,000 fans! This will be an experience for anyone that loves soccer. Not only does Seattle have the loudest fans in the MLS but double that number with a lot of people never having gone to a soccer game and I think it will be a real treat. The supporter groups will be out in full effect this Saturday and all fans getting to watch it on ESPN2 will be very suprised. I would not be suprised if this game and the Barcelona game do not get a lot of foreign media coverage from Europe. Game time is 12pm PST! One last note is that Sounders FC members Kasey Keller and Freddie Ljungberg were named to the first 11 for the All Star game agaist Everton of the EPL. See you all Saturday!

Game 1
Game 1 is in the books. I am very pleased with the result as we now sit in 1st place in the west. The Sounders were fantastic in their debut and we truly were apart of history on Thursday. I have seen confirmation that Barcelona will be playing the Galaxy and the Sounders so hopefully the official announcement from the club will be coming in the next few days. Next up we have RSL on Saturday and it looks like the extra tickets are being gobbled up. It should be a fantastic match as RSL was in the Conference Finals last season. Plus, my childhood MLS hero is their coach so please treat him nicely. In the massive pregame festival on Thursday there was a name circulating as what to call ourselves. I am all for it and will even setup a separate website to support, FirmSeattle. Please indicate your support or non-support with the poll on the page.
Have a great week and see you Saturday!
